New 310MNT cabinet...

I have been playing/testing the new 310MNT for a while now and it works great! It is very powerfull and punchy. This seems to be the perfect small stand-alone cabinet and very easy to carry. I still have to make some steel grills for these cabinets and they will be ready to ship.

It has been very  busy at Vanderkley these last few months, so there was very little time to start new things.
I finally found the time to work on a prototype for the much requested 310 cabinet. It will be available at the end of January 2011 (I hope).

Vanderkley / De Gier FatBoost

Sander de Gier asked me to design a subtle on board bass-boost for his new jazz style bass-guitar the 'BeBop'. The final design is exactly what Sander had in mind. There is no change in character or added noise when the boost is activated, only the low-end gets a bit fatter. This works great if you play finger-style on just the bridge pick-up to compensate for the loss of low-end from the neck pick-up. If you play slap-style with both pick-ups on, you will have a very full and well-balanced tone with the extra lows. The FatBoost circuit boosts as follows; 3dB@130Hz, 6dB@77Hz and 9dB@45Hz.

The FatBoost is activated with a rotary on/off switch (the fourth knob on the instrument). When the FatBoost is switched off the active circuit is bypassed and you will have a true passive instrument again with volume, volume and tone (high roll-off) like any other passive jazz style bass.
The BeBop bass is already a great succes! Number one was purchased by Marcus Miller and number two went to Richard Bona.
The BeBop will be available in 4- and 5-string instruments.
